In the ever-evolving landscape of content creation, it’s easy to feel like everything has been done. However, DJ Ekin, a true non-conformist, has never considered himself a typical thinker. Under the umbrella of his nonprofit organization, iCare About Me, Inc (iCAM), Hip-Hop Study Hall (HHSH) has undergone a remarkable transformation. Initially conceived as a program loosely based on his documentary
“How 2 Get A Record Deal,” HHSH has evolved into the primary content creation initiative of iCAM.
Ekin’s vision for HHSH is to not only expose students to a broader perspective of the culture but also demonstrate that the life skills employed in it can be applied in their daily lives. Fast forward to the present, Ekin and his team remain steadfastly focused on their vision for HHSH. Ekin aspires to emulate the Anthony Bourdain of hip-hop embarking on extraordinary journeys to have great conversations with exceptional people doing dope things in, around and FOR the culture.
